What are the best factor to get good rank in yahoo? Does Back link importance in yahoo is like google or

on page optimization is still the best factor for yahoo.

1. Pay more attention on 'On-page optimization' like targeted keywords on the content,proper keyword palcement,Anchor text etc.

2. Keep titles, description and Meta keywords according to your targeted keywords.Yahoo still considers META keywords in their ranking algorithm unlike Google and MSN.

3. Concentrate on Quantity of Backlinks. Quality is important but Yahoo pays more weight to Quantity of Backlinks.

4. Keywords stuffing also helps to gain a better SERP position.

That point about quantity of backlinks is a good one. Have seen it in action.

I have been promoting a new site and have had a bit of a burst of directory submissions. A week or two back my site was on page 5 of Yahoo, I think for a certain search term. Then today I searched and it was on page 2 of Yahoo!

Can't see it on Google yet, though.

I find Yahoo mind boggling. I have seen sites that have a few pictures and three sentences get better rankings than sites that have a lot of content with plenty of keywords. Their rankings are very crazy. They keep trying to change them too.

Yes it is confusing. Here's another example of the mysterious workings of search engines, Yahoo in particular.

I have been promoting another site. Have got quite a few links coming back to it that are almost all picked up on Yahoo backlink checker. Can only see a couple of them on Google's backlink list, however.

You'd think that the site would rank higher in Yahoo than Google. But the opposite is the case. It's on the first couple of pages for several Google searches, but almost invisible on Yahoo.

great point with the quantity comment.. Yahoo seems to index ALL links where as google picks and chooses..

Also the meta tags do play a significant role. I added metas to one site that didn't have any, and it went from 200 in the SERPS to 4 as soon as it was picked up.
