What do you think happened to yahoo

What do you think happened to yahoo that made many of the people that were die hard user go to the other services for search engine submissions and so on? Why do you think it happened?

maybe they didnt though that someone can match them....overconfident maybe...They spent tons of money to acquire Geocities, Altavista, Alltheweb, etc but no improvement
