| Please help, I have few questions about IIS on Windows 2003 Standard Server? 1. Can I host multiple sites on a single IP with same port 80? If so, how? My sites will be like site1.mydomain.com site2.mydomain.com etc 2. If my IIS doesn't belong to a domain (e.g. mydomain), can I enable the Access Authentication feature so that only users from mydomain can access it? I have other domains within my network (eg. domain2, domain3, etc). When I have "Anonymous access" unchecked, only users from mydomain can acces the site, domain2, domain 3 can't. 3. I don't want to make this server to be par of mydomain domain. Do I have to? |

| Q1) No. Not all on port 80, but you can re-direct the different sites to different ports i.e. http://www.mysite.com:8080 (Notice the colon and 8080) Q2) This depends... If you are using Active Directory to validate your users then no. Other wise you could build your own users list or find a 3rd party program to handle this. Q3) No you do not. See Answer 2. |
