| You can only run ASP files two ways on your desktop: either through a virtual directory or website or through a program like Visual Studio 2005 that has a built-in "mini" web server. If you just try to open the files using Internet Explorer they won't work because IIS needs to intercept the files and compile & run them before serving them to you as HTML. Read the Microsoft Knowledge Base article below, it shows you how to deploy a virtual directory in IIS 5.0. If you're running Windows XP then you've got IIS 5.0. Earlier versions of Windows may be running IIS 4.0 but you don't say what your desktop is using. |
