Why does DMOZ show programming languages in two sections?

Take a look at this page http://dmoz.org/Computers/Programming/Languages/Open_Source/ Why are the languages split in two sections?

Thanks! :-)

No idea. They may have started out with categories like scripted vs compiled (sort of looks like that). But they have VHDL on the list, and that is a hardware design language - maybe the categories simply broke down but could not be gotten rid of easily.

Interesting: The relative modern popularity of each languages is not that close to the number in brackets next to it.
Java - 3,087 Expected.
PHP - 1,547 Seems low
Perl - 978 ick. Should be -100
Fortran - 894 (ouch)
C++ - 844 Seems low
