I am looking for some constructive criticism on a sports blog that I have focused on the NBA and the Los Angeles Lakers. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It looks nice blog. But you may need to improve your heading banner. There are free logo creater softwares available.

Yes, the header is a bit too plain don't you think? And in my opinion purple and yellow don't go very nicely with each other.

I like your site's niche and the team it's for.

Now for what you would need improving in. I think that your content is great and all your posts that you have there but you might need to consider a new layout to make your site looks nice and appealing. The second thing I would suggest you to do is purchase a domain name and use it for your site. I'm pretty sure you can find free hosting from someone as your site is probably not receiving a lot of traffic at the moment. And the final suggestion would be to blend in your ads a little more instead of having them all in the left navigation area. You could get more clicks/money by doing this.

I'm not a big fan on basketball, let alone the site lakermad.blogspot.com. Notwithstanding this, I am looking at it objectively and there could be more available to those of Laker fans, let alone non-basketball fans. Such an example could include seeking commentary from the public on each opinion offered.

I think the sites coming along great keep the content fresh and updated and keep pushing the promoting on it you should do great

I like the banner as well. It communicates the topic of this site rightaway.
The yellow seems just a tad too bright, but it goes pretty nicely with the purple.

@ryno 33: I was just wondering why you have a different Blog Title (Lakers4Life) than your URL (LakerMad). It would be better if you had just one or the other, specially if you're interested in good SEO.

And then I agree with some posters here that you could probably come up with a logo, or at least a nice font for your banner.

I can't stress this enough, but update your website! If you can't update daily, do it every other day! If you can't do it every other day, do it after every two days! And if you can't do it then, you shouldn't be blogging.

Content is king, and by updating weekly or bi-weekly you're not pushing enough content to your readers. All of the top blogs on the internet update at least once a day, so push yourself to do it too!

Overall though, nice website, template is nice (for a Blogger blog anyways), just keep working at it and try to update more.
