How do you submit to the search engines. There are so many auto submitters out there and the search engines do not take lightly to submitting in this manner. Which is better for you and have you ever had problem with using auto submitters?

This doesn't quite answer your question, but a good way to submit to the search directories is with this great
free search directory software. It doesn't submit automatically but assists you in a semi automatic way and allows you to have multiple descriptions for a site.

Search directories are still a valuable source of one way backlinks to your site which will help increase your page rank and get you indexed in the ssearch engines as well.

Auto submitters can get your account banned. They may be fast, but it is not allowed to any search or directory services. It is a form of cheating. As we already know cheating is punishable by banning. We all wouldn’t want that to happen to us.

Hey Postman, you've done a really good job of distilling a 'rule of thumb' out of this...

cheating = banned

I see so many threads based on some variation of the theme, "how can I cheat the system". These threads generally get good responses from people with good explanations as to why you shouldn't cheat in that particular context, but at the end of the day the answer is always... don't try cheating the system!

I'd go for manual ones, as doing that you can choose the best ones, software submission is usually crap, as the quality is not a main factor, just the quantity.

Yeah, avoid using softwares for submission of your site to directories rather submit your site manually which is more helpful for selecting proper and most suitable category for your site.

Submit to SE? Why?
Let them do the work...Let them crawl your site....Instead build one ways links by directory submissions, forum signature posts, social bookmarkings.....

search engine submission is different with directory submission, when submitting to directories it should be manually to ensure that your submissions are properly submitted. While submitting in search engine it should be automatic, because you can save more time with the same effect to manual submission.

Manual is still an excellent way of submission... It is an organic way of link building and organic or not artificial link building is more preferred by SEs.
