the most simple explanation i can give you is that, you'll just have to keep posting articles with same keyword everyday. Let say, your keyword is bicycle. Then, keep typing that in your article. or make it your signature at the end of every article.

posting articles is good but not with keywords everywhere, don't ever do that
you may get ban for keyword stuffing.
Always write your content for visitors and not for SE bots

That's how i understand it.

That is not going to help you. You need to have quality content with key words in it. And the signature links has to be from significantly related pages.

Aron Wall's ebook is the best as far as I know. I used it myself already.

I find no problems getting my keywords on page 1 of Google, my last keyword 'buy puzzles' took 8 days.

First off, I do not think it is necessary to buy any book. Searches and asking in forums such as this will be your best bet. You will have to see what the competition is using then choose your words wisely. Make sure that you have those mentioned throughout the content of the site and you will see amazing results.

If you do a little bit of researching and join a good SEO forum , you wouldn't have to spend any money on books. While Karl's advise could have been a better one ,it isn't a bad one for sure. He already mentioned that the simplest way you can do it is what he advised.

He didn't say use lot of keywords in the same article. I fgot my PRs sticking to the basic and it begins with good content ,articles, using the keywords you want to optimize your webpage for. You have to remember that the keyword density should be appropriate.Try not using it more than 7-8 times in a 300 words article. Make sure you gain as many related backlinks as you can. the easiest way to do it is to submit your article in a reworded format to a high PR article directory. You could also use social bookmarking sites. Don't waste money on SEO books till you are convinced it can make you at least earn it's price before it's long because the algorithms are constantly changing.

A word of caution when adding the keyword. Although it is good to put it in when you can. Do not make the article or signature look unnatural by placing it too often.

Yes, it works best when it's blended with the article and not if it's out of place. In the latter case , the spiders would read it as spam if it happens too frequently and the spiders are getting wiser every passing week.
