I am very much new to SEO. I want to optimize my website which is related to BPO.

Plz guide me what to do & how to do this.. what is the 1st step of SEO & what to do next........?

Try to register to directories first in that way you get get new quality link. and try to learn simple html coding if they will need you to make a reciprocal link to them.

IMO SEO is all about making your site Search engine friendly, so that you will enjoy organic traffic from it.
For making your site SE friendly you will have to work hard, try to update-add unique content to your site on regular basic, also try to get as many backlinks from other relevant sites.
Try to concentrate on onpage optimization along with off-page factors.

Directories are devalued by Google as of lately. You might be better of approaching relevant website owners and inquire about advertising or link exchanges. Forum signatures can also help - be active and post a lot in topic related forums.

According to me, 1st step in SEO is the "selection of domain name"..

Suppose you want to have a site about website templates, and you know the right keyword, you want to rank high are "Free website templates", "web templates ", "Free templates"


domain name "www.Freewebsitetemplate.com" would list at first page of google for the search "Free website templates"

So try to include, main keyword(s) in your domain name.

Seeing that you already have a website (related to BPO) you could get started with directory submission, social bookmarking, create unique articles and submit the same to top article directories.

Keep the content unique and update regularly with keywords of your niche. Make sure you don't use excess keywords in your content.

If you have a good budget you can also squeeze in PPC and other forms of paid marketing.

Yeah this will help you to get traffic and to some extend SEO benefit.
Also try to optimize your page and make it SE friendly with good keywords placement and with proper tags.
