Exclamation The same article on hundreds of blogs - good idea?

I got a mail from a guy that offered me to place one of my articles on hundreds of his blogs (all with pr2-pr5) for a decent price. Now I wonder if it is a bad idea, to get hundreds of backlinks overnight and all with the same content?

Well Google wouldn't see what content on their blog pages. They only count your backlinks. So if you oreder 5 post on PR5 pages. You backlinks count will be a 5 with PR5. So this is a good idea for you because your backlinks will be impoved and also boost your PR too. I suggest you only use PR3+ links which help you better.

I myself wouldn't do it you might get yourself in a sticky sticky situation. A friend of mine was thrown off of google for that this one time. That's when the sh*t hit the fan.

It depends a lot and if you are caught, as told by Jagger, you may be thrown off Google.

You should not allow anyone to use your content even in one blog, figure in several blogs. Why you would not want this to happen is simply because you want to avoid the duplicate content (and Google might consider the article that is in YOUR site as duplicate, instead of the guys site).

What you might want to do is, offer the guy to write a similar article, under a different title and using different keywords (just in case you get out ranked for the same keyphrase) and place a link back (or link from within the content) to your original article using the proper keyphrase as anchor text.

I would stay away from buying links from blog networks. Instead, focus on buying links from single blogs. You'll stay safe, and the end result will probably be better than buying from a blog network.

I wouldn't do it. Link spamming can and will get you in trouble with google. Google has gotten smarter in detecting link spam like this and many sites have been penalized. Plus, you won't get much traffic from those links.

That's correct observation. Google really works hard to maintain the standard of PR it awards to different web pages. It may not be the easiest way to get away with link spamming. I read about this in Matt Cutts' video, and as said by him, - there is a word called limit to everything...

So you have to keep things within control. it does more harm than good to have thousands of IBLs overnight.

I wouldn't do it.. You'll be hit with a duplicate content penalty from Google. They frown upon the same article being in 100s of places.

You are gonna be in trouble for both the ways - "hundreds of backlinks overnight and all with the same content". If you are gonna get backlinks all at the same time then obviously G is gonna notice that, and even if you don't get it all the same time you will still be in trouble for the duplicate content. So mate, stay away. It can be helpful in the short run but not worth it.

I once ordered a package- the article was published on 60 blogs in 5 seconds
I couldn't trace any of those links later.
So I won't post my article on 100 blogs even if someone offered it free. Nothing is sure with new G algo.

I agree this would be a better way to go. Many people have already responded as to why you would want to avoid the offer you were given.

One thing to consider is... are these hundreds of blogs all on the same host or are they all scattered on different hosts with different IP addresses? Because if they are all on one or two hosts, and if this guy is offering this deal to lots of people Google will pick up on the pattern and probably penalize you for it.

The thing is he's probably going to have his blogs dropping in page rank or getting sandboxed if he continues like this.

You would be much better off submitting your site to SEO-Friendly Search Directories. I can recommend some really good, free software to make this chore easier. Just PM me if interested.

May I ask how much he is charging for this?

Well all the people before me have established why you should not do it. But... What you should do is offer him, to write him a new article for him, that he can use to post around his own blogs. It wont harm you and on the other hand the person will be satisfied.
Try it this way and you will see..
Being dumped from google just because of that, dont try it
