MySQL and PhpMyAdmin for online store?

I am trying to make a Website for an online clothing store and i am self taught so I dont really know what im doing half the time but anyhow...I have already done all the graphic/dreamweaver portion and integrated paypal which is great. But now i've come across MySQL and Phpmy Admin which from my understanding is a way to manage my database...i've been reading alot about it but it seems a little out of my understanding...some pple say its simple to learn but man i need help!

Do i really need this if my store will be dealing with low volumes, some one of a kind pieces...if so how do i go about starting the database...im just not sure about all those fields...ive done plenty of research but none really caters to dummies like me so i need..help
