Google Adwords help?

I'm getting lots of clicks to my site but I have been told that a business rival is reapetedly clicking every day until my limit is reached. Is there a way to see who is clicking or ban someone? Its costing me a fortune and I'm sure he is doing this. My bill last month was over 400 quid! Have sent google several mails and so has my web designer but they don't ever reply. Any help please..?

When you find out the answer let me know...I believe that Yahoo was just fined for that;... I have seen adds for ppl to shop on line....they are to visit websites and click on them so it cost us money...I wasn't sure how they were paid but since I created two websites myself now I know....I think it should be illegal for them to be shop our web pages until our money is gone. I think we should create a website so that ppl who do this for money can report it to our site and let us know who they are working for and what sites they are targeting. Then we create a civil suite against the companies that are doing it. I think they call this legal corruption....which needs to be exposed. If you find out more let me know r2bcool@yahoo.com

What we should do is expose the companies that are doing this.....We should start a web page to ppl

Even if a competitor is clicking on your links several times, it won't make a difference, only the first click would be counted and the rest discarded, so they wouldn't cost you anything.

Google is very hot on click fraud, as it directly affects the amount of money they make. Although you would think that the more clicks, the more google makes, this doesn't follow. If advertisers get hit for lots of money due to click fraud, and so don't make any sales from the clicks, then they will quickly stop using Adwords, and google will lose in a major way!

As a result, they do what they can do stop fraudulent clicks, by discounting clicks from the same IP address, setting cookies and checking for the prescence of those cookies on clicks etc.

Even if your competitor is doing this, he`ll be wasting his time!

What this means to you is that your clicks are almost certainly valid clicks, but your site is not converting. IE people are coming to your site, but leaving without buying. You need to look at why people might be doing this, and how to change your pages to make people want to buy from you..

Its very easy to loose money with google adwords, as you`ve seen! However, if you do things properly and get the best out of your site, it can also be easy to make a lot of money from adwords too!

One tip, never bid the maximum amount on adwords, to be in position 1 with your ad. This is the fastest way to loose money! People tend to click on a few ad's before they buy, so position 1 doesn't do that great, as people go on to click the second 2, and then the third.

Aim for position 3 - 4 on the right hand column, and you`ll find you`ll get better conversions, and it will cost less per click.

I would second that, block out the number one and two positions. Firstly lower your bids, secondly "pre-qualify" clicks by making it clear that they aren't free and if all else fails try position preference to take out the first two positions (although this may lose you quite a few clicks).

Email me about any of this if you have questions.

A few words of advise...
If you are using the content network to advertise, please turn it off. The quality of traffic from the content network isn't that good as it isn't that targetted. You could be wasting a lot of money on clicks.

Also, if you are not getting the desired results you should always pause your campaign and review all factors.
