| What's the right keyword density? I was reading through material on the net and was a bit confused on this question. What I gathered from most of these posts is that:keyword density should be between 3-9%. My question is: 1. Is this applicable only for the text content? (appears so) 2. What about the meta tags?Does the repetition of keywords there count? If yes, what should be the ideal keyword density for the entire page (taking into consideration the meta tags, body, links etc?) |

| Keyword Density Hi Keyword density is a tricky thing. There is no absolute figure for choosing the right keyword density. For myself, I use a guide of about 5% then adjust accordingly. What's an acceptable percentage of keywords for one thing may not be the same as another topic. I would say the best guide is to use a keyword density tool and check the top 10 websites to find out the keyword density of each site. You can then use this information as a rough guide to form your text. I've found in the past that my pages had too high a keyword density at 5-6% and dropping them slightly had a big positive impact on my organic listings. Good luck hope that helped. |

| Keyword Density is the percentage of occurrence of your keywords to the text in the rest of your webpage. It is important for your main keywords to have the correct keyword density to rank well in Search Engines. The preferred keyword density ratio varies from search engine to search engine. In general, I recommend using a keyword density ratio in the range of 2-8%.

| keyword density refers to the number of times your keyword or search phrase is found in your article. A percentage is the easiest method of quantifying the number of times a keyword should appear in an article. Meta tags have never been a guaranteed way to gain a top ranking on crawler-based search engines. Today, the most valuable feature they offer the web site owner is the ability to control to some degree how their web pages are described by some search engines. They also offer the ability to prevent pages from being indexed at all. This page explores these and other meta tag-related features in more depth. |
