Question Do you submit your blog entries to digg?

I submitted a blog entries to www.digg.com and received in return 120 unique visitors to my blog - not a large amount I know, but I thought if I can submit all of my blog entries to digg.com it would generate a good amount of traffic each week.

Have you used digg.com and what are your thoughts and experiences using it?

I submitted it once, and got banned with this message - "Please link directly to story source/this URL has been reported as a news middleman." This was my only experience with digg so far.

I haven't tried submitting any of my blog articles to Digg yet. I'd like to try it, though. You don't easily get 120 new visitors in a snap. But I'm quite held back by the experiences shared by KLP and sabarishtm.

@Anjali: How does Digg compare with Stumble or del.icio.us?

You shouldn't submit too many, they'll catch on to you. Also you could try submitting things to stumbleupon.

I love Digg.com, I've seem a lot of this, but I really have never really tried that. I personally prefer del.icio.us.

I haven't tried digg at all, but it seems when your post or site gets "dugg", it does result in a lot of traffic. I've posted my sites on del.icio.us and magnolia. Does Stumble work the same way?

Digg won't ban or punish you for submitting your blog post, it's when you start submitting every single post every day that they start to get a little aggravated. It works better if someone else submits to Digg anyways, especially a high level member.

Digg can bring good traffic, but only if someone votes for your story. Consider buying diggs or "digg exchanges" to get the most out of the website.

- Thanks for your suggestion. But will it be fare enough to generate artificial votes for a site?

No,
Alot of times I find its a waste of effort as it doesn't really bring any hits. I submit every once in a while but not all the time. Submitting smalls stories is pretty pointless as I've found as no one "diggs" them.

I tried REDDIT few days ago. Got few hits if not many. I think it may not be a bad idea to start a friendly community in any social networking sites where members may vote for each other.

I would try the delio bookmarks, they actually work pretty well. I get a decent amount of hits off that site for a couple of my sites. I find stumbleupon better than dig and I've got the stumble toolbar.

Of course, this is a good social website on the net.
Besides, you can gain a lot of friends with the same interest with you.
I do submit my stories on digg and i love to comment other's stories.
