Whenever I type something in Google/Yahoo!/MSN Search...?

whatever I type remains visible later. I mean, if you go to Google Search sometime later, & say you type 'a', you get a drop-down list of all the items that you've searched before beginning with 'a'. How can I delete the list of previously searched items??

I answered this and got a Best Answer for this. Follow the link, but in case it is no longer available, i'll put it on here to.

To Do that you do this:

-> Tools ->Internet Options
-> Content Tab -> Auto Complete

When the AutoComplete Settings is open you can clear the history or turn it off. (I highly suggest unchecking User Names and Passwords for security reasons)

At the top of this page....Go to menu Bar(if you don't see a menu bar...right click at the top of the page and activate your menu bar) Go to tools...drop down to delete browser history...delete all. then go to home page.....

This is a feature on the web browser called AutoComplete.
First, clear the browsing history this should clear it as well
But you might want to disable this feature :
Here's how (IE 7) :
- Go to Tools
- Internet options
- Click on tab named "Content"
- Look for AutoComplete and click on Settings
- Uncheck all the check boxes

Good Luck !

Open Internet Explorer.
Choose Internet Options from the Tools menu.
Click the Content tab.
Click the AutoComplete button.

Click to remove checkmarks from these items:

Web addresses
Forms
User names and passwords on forms
Prompt me to save passwords

Click the Clear Forms button.
Click the Clear Passwords button.
Click OK.

Deleting old entries from the Search Companion
Windows XP's Search Companion also includes an AutoComplete feature, so it can remember every file and phrase you've searched for. Here's how to turn it off, as well:

Choose Search from the Start menu.
Choose Change Preferences.
Choose Turn AutoComplete off.

The best thing to do would really be to go to somewhere like downloads.com and get yourself an internet history eraser... helps keep all your cache clean and uncluttered!

- But hey, don't loose any affiliate cookies!

Go to internet options,or go to the Tool menu and select clear private data. From there you just have to select or check the following items which you would want to delete, like history, cookies, saved passwords, etc.
