Thumbs up Shorten Your Affiliate Links

I just found this great site today for shortening your long, ugly affiliate links. It's free, and IMHO better than tinyurl because it tracks click thrus on your links.

It's got a really nice, easy user interface too. And they have a choice of 3 very short domains you can have your redirection links under.

Visit Snipr

And another...

Here's another link-shortening redirection service. Free of course. It also keeps stats. An advantage it has over Snipr is that you get to choose your suffix code, it will randomly generate one for you, but you also have the option to choose your own.

Not quite as quick and easy to use as Snipr, but you get a chance to do some promotion of your redirection links. Most of the users of this service are Internet Marketers, so if IMers are one of your target markets this service might be a better option for you.

Yes, I think Snipr is excellent.

I particularly recommend it for those promoting affiliate programs offline. If you were to put the whole thing on flyers, stickers etc, then you'd never get any signups from these ads because people would be even more likely to just type the main URL in, shedding the membership details.

Really good point about offline links! I don't often think about offline marketing but you are right, especially with those really long affiliate links. The chances of someone typing it in wrong or just typing in the domain are extremely high. With something like snipr it's short enough to put anywhere in print publications.

Good idea donna, but I think using well-known services like snipr and tinyurl make your links look suspicious and obivously masked. It's best to use an obscure, lesser known service like phaze.me - Free Short URL Redirection or vilasta.com. Better yet, register your own domain at GoDaddy to forward to your affilaite link, it's only 6 or 7 bucks, definitely worth it!

This is a fine technique to do so.
