Yes, text links ads may sound exciting, as they pay good rates, I even had it on my site for a while, but Google is totally against selling/buying links, so it does damage the page rank, I'd not use it if I want a great pager ank!

Text Link ads are a great way to advertise your website but at what cost. Your Google rank will most likely suffer from doing this.

Some owners doesn’t consider Google page rank as a legitimate source, they more relying on Real Rank. Many have said that it is more reliable compare to Google’s page rank because it is updated instantly.

What is real rank? I mean, who provides it?
Sorry, I'm sort of a newbie on this, so if you point it to me, it'd be good!

Hi Surfville. I have both AdSense and Text Link Ads on my site and everything has been cool with that. I think Google only objects to running adsense with other contextual ads programs. Text links ads aren't contextual because advertisers choose to advertise on your site. I'm pretty sure there is something in the text link ads FAQ about it.

Maybe Google haven’t discovered that you are using adsense along with text ads. In time you will see that you’re account would be deleted. Things may not come along to your favor; you may regret it on the coming future.

Postman, where did you read that Google does not allow Text-Link-Ads to be on the same pages as AdSense? Do you have any reference document to support your statement? If you do I'd be interested in reading it as long as it's from a reputable source and not just hearsay or opinion.

I have this from the Text-Link-Ads FAQ:

Quote:
# Can I run Text Link Ads along with other ad systems I am currently running?
Yes, Text Link Ads can be run along any ad system as we are not a contextually served product.
This also agrees with my understanding of the AdSense TOS and the nature of text-link-ads, ie they are not contextual.

BTW, if I did have to choose between AdSense and Text-Link-Ads, I would definitely go with Text-Link-Ads. They are less obtrusive, they pay more in my case and I've just seen AdSense earnings slip over the past few months.

I've posted this in other threads, but thought this would be a relevant thread to post in as well. I thought the Google Slap on paid links penalized the buyers, but this article says it's actually the sellers that get slapped. Makes since - he explains why in the article. I have noticed that the page rank has dropped on my sites that are selling the text links. But I also have other sites not selling that have suffered as well. So I'm not sure what is going on, but I found this article quite interesting.

What is really a paid link anyway?
