I treat these with caution, lets see some paypal records for proof, with the confidential stuff omitted of course.

And how will I know that they'll stop sending the email should I decide to opt out? And what defenses are there to prevent someone from abusing the system to make several hundred a week and therefore bringing down the whole thing?

And where is the companies money coming from? Not selling the e-mail to every spammer in the US.

These guys do pay, but the problem that I had with them when I used to do this was that they had a ridiculously high cash out amount. It took forever to reach it and that was after endlessly clicking and reading e-mails constantly. Then there are times when no e-mails are coming in at all, which prolonged it even further. It just wasn't worth the time to me. I am sure it is better for people who bring in a lot of referrals but I was never one to go out and scout out a lot of referrals for a paid to read email site. They are legit though, and they are still around after years so I would say they are doing something right. I just don't have the patience to wait that long to cash out.
