Google Adsense program:

It's the easiest program to make money and free to sign up. You can make some legitimate money if you have a blog at Blogger.com of a free website like Google pages which will allow you to publish Google Adsense with no cash investment. This is a self explained page:

Google Adsense is a contextual advertising programs where ads shown are based on the content of your site. Originally the program showed purely text ads, but now also shows image ads.

Apply to Google Adsense at http://www.google.com/adsense

Yes you can use Adsense on free hosting service. Adsense can be shown on free hosting service EXCEPT when that free hosting service shows competing contextual advertising ads. Example is Geocities which show the competing Yahoo Publisher Network ads.

Google AdSense is a fast and easy way for website publishers of all sizes to display relevant Google ads on their website's content pages and earn money. Because the ads are related to what your visitors are looking for on your site — or matched to the characteristics and interests of the visitors your content attracts — you'll finally have a way to both monetize and enhance your content pages.

It's also a way for website publishers to provide Google web and site search to their visitors, and to earn money by displaying Google ads on the search results pages.

Yes you can. If you want some good info I'd recommend http://www.myfriendbenjamin.com/ Go to their "Moneymaking Articles" section, they've got a nice bit of info on making money with google adsense and its competitor, yahoo publisher.
