Question Does Google allow link exchange?

I am planning to do link exchange and wonder any problem with adsense if I do link exchange. I don't want to take any risks.

I would appreciate your help.

First we have to understand what google is about. It's business is dishing up the right information to any person looking for it and they don't look kindly at any attempt to manipulate that. So Google encourages organic link building.

If a link exchange doesn't fall into the category of organic, then it probably isn't okay with Google. But they don't really have to know, don't they?

It's best to read the Google Terms of Service if you're not sure. But I think that link exchanges are not in breach of the TOS per se. However, Google will punish you for doing things like link exchanges through it's ranking (or possibly sandboxing) your site.

Keep in mind that they have tremendous computing power and brain power. If you do a reciprocal link with another site - Google will know about it. If the link exchange you go through has a distinquishing footprint (like a link back to the link exchange site) that's pretty easy for Google to figure out as well.

Cofffi - Link exchange will not affect Adsense directly.
If done in excess, what it can affect is your SERPs
and thereby indirectly affect Adsense.

Well it's ok to exchange Links but it may not good for your PageRank. If you don't care about Google PR than you can do it without any porblems. You should read their T&C and if you have any doubts than just ask to Google. I am sure they will provide you a solution.

Smile Regarding Link Exchange

Site is not affected with link exchange, the point is that you should exchange link with theme related sites.

The thing with link exchange is that while you are getting inbound links and a bit of PR juice with each one you are also bleeding your own PR on the outbound reciprocal links. So if you can get one way inbound links that's always better.

You also have to consider the page that links are coming from. I have seen sites offering to exchange links on some of the link exchange sites and all their links (to your site) are on a page that is in no way linked to any other page of their site (very naughty of them), so is it even indexed in Google? If it's not you are getting a bad deal. Also what if the other site's 'link' page is listed from their other pages using the nofollow, noindex tags? Same problem, that page will appear to users (who are a. probably not even going to look at the links page, and b. if they do look at the links page what's the chance of them finding your link among hundreds of others?).

I just find it's much easier, and more beneficial to get one way backlinks. I have tried link exchanges - both free and paid (3 way links), and in my experience it's just not worth the effort. According to many blog and forum posts I have read some site owners have even seen their site ranking go down - they suspect because of link exchanges.

Thumbs up

I also agreed that google has no problem with link exchange. But recommendation is exchange links with only relevant site and try to exchange with higher PR website.

Yes Google allows link exchange, but don't expect that google will give your site a weight or have an advantage for doing that and it could be the reason why your site didn't get rank for having a link exchange.

First you must know what is google all about then you'll find out the answers to your question... But in my own opinion, It is okey to have link partners as long as it is related to your site.
