Who has the cheapest domain names?

My domain name is set to expire in a few months and I am seeing if I can transfer it to someone cheaper. I don't need any special features and anyone who offers low prices for multi-year registrations would be nice.

If you're looking at providers who charge less than the current total cost of $6 a year for .com domain names, you might want to peek more closely (especially their legal fine prints) to make sure you don't get any unexpected unwanted surprises.

There are basically only 2 groups of companies who can handle .com registrations: domain registrars (the actual companies to register and manage domain names) and their reseller partners. The latter is where you're more likely to find chose charging like $1.99 to $2.99 to $5.99 a year.

However, resellers don't have as much umph as their actual domain registrar partners do, especially if really complex problems occur. Domain registrars have more power than their resellers can ever hope to have.

Make sure you know what your exact needs are, then study those you're looking at and see who you think meets your needs the best. Good luck and good hunting.

Go for Godaddy. They're the most reliable domain name provider out there. Look for discount codes to get domains for cheaper prices.

Get a domain with a hosting plan and you will have it absolutely for free. Good way to do this is dealing with sibername.com, as this company is not only great hosting provider, but als accredited domain registrar.
