I mean what are the advantages of using it over other e-commerce solutions?

the speed of the download file a host gives you for test has nothing to do with the actual way the server will be running.
But I second Simplehelix.com, know them as a steady shared host.
I suggest checking if they offer a trial period to see how your site will be running.
