If you sell digital products on eBay and haven't heard the news yet... as of March 31, 2008 they've banned the sale of digital products through auctions. This includes domains and websites, software, anything that is digitally downloaded or transferred electronically.

official policy announcement here.
You can sell digital products through the classified ads which cost $9.95 for a basic ad. They run for 30 days and it appears they don't incur any additional fees unless you opt for any of their upgrade features.
The other solution is to convert your products into physical products which can still be sold through the auctions. In doing my research over the past couple of days I was pleased to find it's not nearly as expensive to do this as I imagined. I think this makes a really feasible option - for me anyway.
You can use fulfillment companies to automate the creation and shipping side of things. There are also solutions for automating the entire sales process, including sending the order to the fulfillment company.
So for anyone who uses eBay as a marketing tool and has been bummed out by this new policy change, there are viable alternatives. You don't necessarily need to throw in the towel just yet
