| I think those who actually spend to earn, get to earn more. But for smaller sites, like my own, I just rely on whatever traffic is brought in, and then only a fraction of that traffic is actually interested enough to click on the ads.
Apart from traffic, it might be also the placement of the ads. And I agree with Smaaz when he says surfers are now "AdSense blind". Some are even pretty wary to click on them.
