| ruby on rails is a Web Development Language. Its is based on the Ruby, which is the language, and runs on Rails which is the web framework. If all this sounds very geeky to you dont worry, RoR is very easy to learn. Not many Enterprises (big companies) use RoR, or PHP(my favorite) to create WEb pages, but they both are used extensively by small web development companies. They both are extremely powerful when it comes to programming for the WEB
